Guidelines for creating graphic stamps

We are happy to give you some tips on designing your own graphic stamp or logo stamp below.

You can design the graphic for your stamp in various graphic programmes as well as Word or Excel and upload the finished stamp graphic or a logo in our online designer.

If you want to design a graphic for a specific stamp model, take the corresponding stamp imprint size from the model in the shop and design it exactly using these stamp imprint dimensions.

Let's get started with our tips:

Formats de fichier

Formats for online upload: PDF, TIFF, EPS, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, SVG. Please convert fonts into paths.

Ideal data export from your graphic program: TIF-File (s/w 1-bit oder grau), 600dpi, LWZ Compression.

Open Data formats (Word, Excel): Save as PDF and upload PDF in our graphics upload.

Image resolution

A resolution of 600 dpi is ideal for a stamp graphic.

We can also process artwork with a lower resolution, but this can lead to a loss of quality (roundings may appear angular or pixelated).

Font size

Our recommendation for most fonts is aminimum of 7pt.

In order to guarantee an exact stamp imprint, your texts should not be smaller than 7 points (reference size Arial 7pt).

Avoid Light and decorative fonts with very fine lines.

Line thickness

For stand-alone lines we recommend a minimum thickness of 0.75pt or approx. 0.3mm.

We can produce thinner lines, but these stamp imprints may be unclear or not may not show at all.

Filled areas

Please note that for technical reasons, large printing areas on stamps do not always colour 100% of the area.

The imprint will have a classic 'stamp look'.

Therefore, avoid large areas and inverse graphics when designing your stamp.

Date stamp designs

Note the exact dimensions for date stamps, since the date field will be cut out. You can use the entire area without any margin for the design.

Refer to our Size overview for date stamps for a PDF template with all date stamp models.
